Meeting the Goddess of Love

These paragraphs on my experience of meeting the Goddess of love, are excerpted from my book, My Guru, My Guide. The occasions described here are amongst my most treasured memories.

One night in March 2004 I was woken from sleep by a calling from above. My room was filled with the powerful feminine presence and beauty of the One who called to me, and I responded spontaneously with love. Whoever she was, she called to me and energetically pulled me, from immeasurably high above the world. This was unlike any calling that I had received in the past.

Surrounding my body with protective energies, I focused my intuitive attention via the chakras at the forehead and crown, and turned upwards, to meet the calling ‘pull’ from above. I could tell that this being was very pure, by the sheer height from which she called, and from her quality of love, so I felt towards her with all my feeling and sensitivity. I was still not prepared, though, for the one I met that evening. Connecting with her, I was immediately drawn into a pervasive field of feminine love. I was overwhelmed by her love. I wondered if she was a Goddess, a female aspect of the Divine. Then she revealed her Form, showing me images of her incarnations as Goddesses from different traditions around the world. She showed me that she was the Tibetan Goddess Tara, the Chinese Goddess, Kuan Yin and the Christian saint, Mary, mother of Jesus. She was the Goddess of compassion and healing, the Goddess of love. I was deeply humbled, and my heart overflowed with love for her.

While immersed in her love-energy, I also received visual images and wordless messages, which communicated her blessing of my life. She showed me scenes from my past, particularly my childhood, and revealed that she had been with me through all of the difficult times. With great sweetness and compassion she took me through a process of healing, in which she seemed to be lifting small shadows from my being.

As it became clear that it was time for me to leave her, I expressed my love and gratitude for the sacred gifts of her Self-Revelation, her love and healing. I returned my attention and energy to my physical body, and currents of light and energy entered my head from above, streaming down through my body to the toes. I was completely and utterly in awe to have been contacted by the Divine Goddess, who prior to this moment had been only an image to me.
